FreeSpeechRevolution.com was founded by Mike Dickinson.Dickinson, who has written for Hustler Magazine, The Free Speech Coalition, and AVN.com, has been an outspoken and active advocate of the first amendment after his editorial work was censored during his time as a doctorial student at Virginia Commonwealth University.
I wrote an editorial piece that expressed my political beliefs, my thoughts. The jokes in the editorial piece were right along the lines of the type of humor in 'South Park' and 'Family Guy', certainly very acceptable for a college student audience. The student newspaper staff, in an act of 'infinite' journalistic wisdom censored it, said Dickinson. I had to fight it all the way to a student government hearing. I'll never forget it. One of the editors of the newspaper said that I wasn't a victim but an 'agitator'. If being an agitator means fighting for my right to free speech I will happily be an agitator every day.
Citing his hero as Larry Flynt, Dickinson says the goal of Free Speech Revolution is to, Change the game and the way the free speech battles are fought. For too long, the religious right and conservatives have been able to portray those who exercise free speech as the 'radicals' and 'extremists' when in reality it should be the other way around, said Dickinson.Those who subvert the first amendment are the true perverts of this nation.
