1) How long have you been in the industry? How did you get started? Have you had fun in the industry?

I have been in the industry for about a year now. I had actually wanted to be in porn for a very long time (well, a long time to me; I’m not the most patient person) and as soon as I saw an opportunity, I took it. My guy and I were watching a locally produced porn video and I said that I really wanted to fuck the hot rocker girl (Misty Haze from mistysxxxgirls.com). He mentioned that he had met her and showed me her site. The rest, as they say, is history. And yes, I’ve had lots of fun doing this!

2) Are you concerned with the rights of the adult industry to make and produce movies/web clips?

Yes! And everyone else who cares about freedom of expression should, too! It may start with the more “obscene” (and who the hell decides what’s obscene and what’s not, anyway?!) things, like porn, but it will snowball into violating everyone’s rights!

I enjoy what I do and I intend to continue doing it. The government continuing to encroach on the rights of the adult industry to produce their work would make that very difficult, to say the least. So yes, I am concerned for our rights.

3) A lot of the problem people have with the adult industry is the misconception that "pornographers" are always trying to lure under age people in and make "kiddie porn". Could you talk about what it is actually like on a set, as far as having ID, signing model releases, having an AIM test, etc?

Have you seen or heard of anyone in the legitimate adult industry knowingly using minors in films or the web?

I’m not sure if I agree with that being “a lot of the problem.” I think most of the problem has to do with their fine-tuned “moral” objections to sexuality in general and that the “kiddie porn” crusade is just a convenient way to clamp down and try to snuff out the “naughtiness” that is the adult industry.

As far as I’ve seen in the industry, the concern that underage talent might be used is ill founded. Legitimate pornographers are very careful to check Ids and sign releases. With every different company I’ve worked with, I’ve had to present no less than two forms of identification, sign a very thorough release, and present my test results. I have never heard of anyone in the legitimate industry knowingly using minors for talent and they take great precautions to prevent it. Anyone who is actually involved in making underage porn is not in the legitimate industry and would not care in the least about the rules and regulations aimed at adult work to prevent that sort of thing.

4) Do you ever get offended by shows like South Park or Family Guy? What do you think about shows/writing that offends people?

I can’t say that I have; South Park is one of my favorite shows! I think that most people are offended with things that go against what they directly believe or against their opinion. Humans don’t like to be wrong and we like everyone to agree with us and our views. Anything that may present an opposing view or make fun of theirs offends them (i.e. pisses them off). And for the people who get offended because the shows are not “politically correct:” don’t you think that political correctness is just another way of throwing up walls between people, differentiating between them and furthering bigotry, sexism, homophobia, etc.?

Treating people differently based off of the color of their skin (which is silly anyway; we’re people, not crayons), their sex organs, or whom they’re attracted to, no matter how much more “positive” the difference is, is still wrong and only serves to separate people, not unite them.

5) What do you think about some of the stuff that pushes the limit in the adult industry, stuff like Max Hardcore, Kink.com, JM Productions?

I think that as long as everyone involved is a consenting adult, then there should not be a problem. As to which limits are being pushed, that is purely subjective and is going to vary from person to person. What one person sees as extreme, another views as completely normal. Who gets to define the “limits” that are then pushed?

6) Have you ever been asked to do a scene or something on film that you thought was crazy and wondered if it was offensive/legal? What was it? Did you do the scene or the act anyway?

I can’t honestly say that this as ever happened to me.

7) Why do you think America has such a fascination with sex and with regulating sex?

I personally believe that it comes down to control. Sex is a very powerful thing; it feels good, nearly everyone enjoys it, and it is a basic driving force that is part of the human condition. I think a lot of the regulation part of it comes from the conservative Christian side of things. To them, sex is something that is so shameful to want that it should only be done in complete privacy and never discussed again. Simply told, humans are sexual creatures from birth and that sort of repression is unhealthy to the extreme.

These people have a negative attitude towards sex. To them, it is taboo and they feel they have both the right and the moral obligation to stop anyone from enjoying their sexuality, which they have been taught is bad, wrong, dirty, and shameful. Sex is more powerful than they are and therefore they feel the need to control it to the best of their abilities, to avoid admitting that it may well control them.

One thing that never ceases to bother me about the American attitude towards sex: why is violence okay and sex is bad? Does that seem backwards to anyone else? Maybe if we stopped teaching the new generations that sex is taboo and violence is okay, we’d be in a better place.

8) A lot of people in the industry have told me that most the people in the industry don't care about protecting free speech, or really about anyone other than themselves and their money. Do you think this is true? Do you think a lot of the people that are new to the industry care or have any concern about free speech and protecting the right to make movies?

I do not believe that is true at all. There may be a few people who have the attitude of “get in, get money, get out,” but nearly everyone I’ve talked to is very gung-ho about free speech rights (and rightly so). I think that those who are new to the industry who don’t care about free speech either will change their mind and start caring soon enough, or they’ll likely be out of the industry fairly quickly and simply won’t care.

9) Is the "character" you play in your DVD's anything like you in real life?

I’m not sure if I “play” more of a character when I’m in a scene, but I know that I tend to be a little bit more (not a lot more, mind) “bubblegum” when I’m in front of a camera than I may be in real life, but for the most part I am a very sexual person and I enjoy what I do, so when I’m on camera, I’m just a more bubblegum, less sarcastic version of myself.

10) What is the craziest thing you have done/or scene you've been in on camera?

Craziest thing I’ve done sexually? Things I’ve done on camera so far are fairly tame compared to my normal sex life (don’t worry, there’s nothing illegal involved), but I’m not sure what defines “crazy,” much less the craziest thing I’ve done. Again, it’s a very subjective issue.

11) Have you been involved with trying to change people's opinions about the industry?

I thoroughly enjoy debate and will express my opinions ardently and argue against those who disagree. However, I can’t say that, beyond this interview and a few blogs I’ve written as Lovey, I’ve been actively involved in changing minds. But if it comes up, you can be sure that I’ll argue and try to get those who disagree to see my side of things.

12) Why do you think the industry is so caught up on the portrayal of young- a lot of DVD's always say "18 & 19 years old" etc?

For some reason in today’s society, youth equals perfection and is the ideal. Therefore, perfect sex involves perfect people, which are equated with young people. Porn is about creating a fantasy and not only is perfection desirable, but for many, the youthful, unobtainable women are as well. That said, I know plenty of people (myself included) who also enjoy watching mature women (“cougars”) have sexy fun.

13) What is your website?

It is under construction at the moment, but it’s

http://loveycravesitxxx.com.

Until it’s up and running, you can find me at:

14) Anything else you'd like to add:

If you don’t stand up for the rights of some, you may find your rights gone, too.
